What do I need to Fix my microphone problem?

I have had my SENNHEISER PC151 3.5mm Ciraural Headset for some time now and I just bought a Creative Sound Blaster Audigy SE card for my computer. The sound is spectacular from the card, but the microphone is hissing and not working correctly. I do not have my microphone muted, and I have the line for my mic plugged into the right slot. Are these products compatible with eachother or do I need a Sound Blaster Preamplifier?
